This is our 4th cruise and our 3rd with Royal Caribbean. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Jewel. It is a smaller size ship, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in service and amenities. The pool area was fun on sea days - only lacking an outside tv screen but I believe that will be added in dry-dock next month. On sea days we would go up onto deck between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and always had an ample of selection of chairs to choose from. The bartenders and pool staff were all friendly and professional. In addition, they did try to "police" the chair-hog policy. This is a difficult part of their job and we thought they did a very admiral job in trying to keep everyone happy in this regard! Try the on-deck Zumba classes! They were fun and adaptable to all levels of fitness.

The ship is beautiful with plenty of windows to allow sea views in all areas of the ship. The Centrum is the centre of activity for the ship. The Schooner Bar was a nightly favourite and pianist Kim was amazing! Be sure to catch the sunsets each evening in the Safari Club - it has a panoramic view with floor to ceiling windows at the back of the ship! Beautiful views of the sunset!

We enjoyed the speciality restaurants and had pre-purchased a 3 dinner package for just $70 each. It worked out perfectly. We used it to go to Chops Grille twice and Portofino once. Chops is a first-rate steak house with amazing food and service. If you go, try to be seated in Christian's section. He is an amazing waiter and made the experience for us. That being said the main dining room was quite good and we were seated with a very nice group of people who made it a great experience! We also had no complaints about the Windjammer. If something was low, you only needed to ask and they would attend to it right away - also if you are gluten free they will create a whole gluten free pizza for you both at the Windjammer and the Solarium Cafe - all you have to do is ask!

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin I

Our cabin was 3632 - and ocean view cabin with a large window and it was more than adequate in size and had lots of storage. It's location was perfect - close to the stairs and only one level up the the main Centrum area. There was a gentle hum from the engines - but other than that no noise issues and we slept soundly! Also - when disembarking at the ports we only had to go down one level and the disembarkation area was right there - super easy and fast - we were often one of the first off the ship at the ports! Would strongly recommend this cabin.
