This was our 5th Princess Cruise (just made Platinum level), and we have about 17 cruises on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.

Passengers: Did not see many children. Most people in 50 - 70's. We are in our mid-40's. There were some 20-somethings we saw in the Club 6 nightclub at 11 pm.

Embarkation: Check-in opens at 12:00 pm. We got there at 9:15 am and stood in line for a long time watching it double back. Taxi from Ft. Lauderdale to Port Everglades was about 15 minutes and cost $22 for the 2 of us. One of the cruise staff said it is better to arrive at 1:00 pm. There was a bathroom along the long wall. Wheelchairs are available past the front of the line. If you are Platinum level or higher or suite, there will be a separate line to the right for you for quicker check-in. Only two X-ray machines open but after that, the line to check-in was very fast and short and we could proceed directly to the ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

Riviera (2 floors below pool and Horizon buffet) - R240 - Best cabin we have gotten - right around the corner from the stairs and elevator. Quiet. Right side of ship. Balcony sunny with some partial shade. Two chairs that recline but no room for foot stool. Your knees will be close to the balcony glass, so it is better to put the chair at an angle. Small table.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

Rent a Princess clamshell for protection from the sun or rain. Snorkeling is not very good other than in from of the covered dock where the people throw in bread. BBQ lunch is nice.

St. Thomas

Coki beach - taxi $12 per person - lots of food, snorkeling (feed the fish). It can get crowded, so head over early. Leave around 2:30 pm to head back since the traffic can be bad.
