We were so excited to learn that RCL was going to bring one of their Voyager Class ships to homeport in Los Angeles!  We have never sailed on this large of ship before and were really looking forward to it!  The prices went down a couple times before we sailed, so keep your eyes peeled on the prices even after you book!We have been to the Mexican Riviera a few times prior to this cruise, and this time the ship truly was our destination! We thought the cruise was very nice, and would do it again in a heartbeat! We really really really took it easy and did a lot of reading and lying around vegging out! Our daughter drove us to the ship and we were on board and having lunch in the Windjammer by 11:30am. The food was quite good throughout the cruise. One exception was the hamburgers served in Windjammer which were made ahead of time and kept warm by lamp.

We had lunch in Johnny Rockets one day and loved it. We had a Diamond Members coupon for the $4.95 cover charge, but our sodas were extra. The waiters all lined up and danced to the some lively oldies music and it was as cute as can be! This dancing happened just about every 15 minutes while we were there. My husband ordered a double burger which was too much food, but delicious. I had a regular one and it was just perfect. They gave us a load of fries AND onion rings to munch on while waiting for the burgers. We topped it off with warm apple pie Ala mode. So yummy!!

We shared a table with 3 other couples at early seating. Our waitstaff consisted of two ladies from Jamaica and they gave us excellent service. RCL offers "My Time" dining now but you have to make reservations for that. I didn't run into anyone that had made that choice for dining so I didn't hear how good/bad it was.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

We found this cabin to be very quiet. Because it is on the hump, or bubble, we gained a couple feet between the drapes and the sliding glass door. We were about 100 feet from the stairs, elevators and the Concierge Lounge. We found it perfect for our needs.
