This was our 24th cruise and the 4th with Norwegian. after a terrible trip on the escape I was skeptical about this trip but had already booked. However it was a whole different story with this ship and in a good way. my negatives were and extremely long wait in an overcrowded terminal with seating for only about half the people inside. also I was hit with an unexpected corkage fee for the wine I brought to drink in the room and even after paying I wasn't able to get wine glasses in the room. The Pearl is a smooth sailing tastefully decorated ship sometimes a bit quirky ( queen sized beds in the back of two of the lounges) The ship is well laid out and user friendly, the only thing I missed was a deli café in the atrium lounge. Super friendly and helpful staff.

We ate in the summer place dining room every night. it is a beautiful room with European flair. we were always seated promptly and sometimes the service was really fast other times not so much, the selections were typical ( we have found cutbacks in all the cruise lines now in the food dept ) deserts on this cruise were really special even in the garden café.

The shows were pretty good to excellent, and we saw all but one. The ports on this cruise were some of my favorite's in the whole Carribean and when we went through the Panama Canal they gave a complete Narration of what we were seeing and some history about it over the loud speakers, good job Norwegian you really outdid yourself on that one.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

comfortable met all our needs, especially nice shower with an even flow of hot water

Port Reviews

Curacao

hit the main highlights and gave us a feel for the island

Colon (Cristobal)

used a driver with the white shirts that were supposed to be the safest according to the shop, unfortunately our driver gave us a price and jacked it up ten times higher at the finish, I split the difference and walked away,

Puerto Limon

the canals and rainforest were lovely, the Banana plantation was closed due to some type of infestation. Once the shore excursions desk found out about it they gave us a partial refund on the trip which was appreciated but not expected.
