We booked this cruise whilst on the same ship in the E Med last year (NB; we've already booked the next one aboard her too. Sigh.) Embarkation was the speediest yet, including immigration and we seemed to be aboard in no time. We ate in Luminae for most breakfasts, a sea-day lunch and 3 evenings. The menu is deliberately limited but the food quality was very good. You can also ask for and order from the MDR menu which we did on several occasions. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our visits, it was here were service fell down on more than one occasion. There is a more than sufficient staff, all of whom are very friendly, but more than one made several mistakes; failure to bring one of our party one of his courses, wrong orders and a few other minor mistakes. However, it didn't detract too much from the overall dining experience.

Both visits to the MDR were very good as was our one visit to the Lawn Grill Club which was included in our suite booking. However, this benefit has since been removed. We also used Blu which is the Aqua Suites specialist restaurant. They request Sky Suite guests either come early or late as we aren't priority. The food and service were excellent.

Most bars were very good with the exception of the Passport Bar, which advertised itself as a specialist in 'craft beers.' Three of the four we ordered from the menu weren't available and when I ordered a specialist Brooklyn brown ale, they turned up with Newcastle Brown Ale which I can buy at home in the UK for half the price. They also gave our suite cards (with the Premium Drinks Package) to other guests and very quickly had to run to Guest Services to rectify this. The use of Michael's Club was a great benefit and all of the staff in there were outstanding (Staywill, Anna, Borko, Dubra.)

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

We had a Sky Suite on deck 12 (2176) which was fantastic; roomy, plenty of storage space, bath, very modern and a nice sized balcony. Our suite stewards, Michael and Nevis were excellent, always nearby with a friendly smile and ready to chat. They kept the room spotless. But best of all, and one of the best things about the cruise was our butler, Bart. This guy is amazing. No task was too little or too large. He organised trips, afternoon tea every day (ensuring there were sufficient veggie snacks), evening wear, any problems that we needed sorted were sorted, reservations when we needed them. An absolute credit to Celebrity.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Bussed to a seaside workshop/restaurant were we were introduced to the history of Mayan chocolate making. This was a fun workshop where learned about ingredients, methods etc and we made our own chocolate. We then paired different wines versus different chocolates. The host was excellent

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

A very nice, small town apparently ideal if you wish to shop for jewellery. walked around, drank in a bar or two then took a taxi to the nearby Royal Yacht Club for a swim.
