Cabin: Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony
Myself and my husband were cruise virgins. We booked this to mark our 50th birthdays, so really wanted to celebrate this special occasion.
Prior to our cruise I came across this website and read numerous reviews on the Spirit, some very bad, some very good! We decided that as this was our first time on a cruise, we would go with an open mind on what to expect! We were not disappointed.
Yes the ship is getting old, but it was spotlessly clean and we noticed that the crew were constantly maintaining and cleaning during our stay.

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

We decided to upgrade to an aft facing penthouse as it was our birthday treat, well what a treat. it was lovely. A lounge/dining area, table laden with fresh fruit and flowers and a lovely bottle of champagne on ice awaiting us, a separate bedroom ( such a comfy bed ) and an amazing bathroom with a spa bath with views out to sea. Even though there was such a lot to do on board we still spent time in our cabin as it was so comfortable and lovely to sit on the balcony with a drink and a book just chilling out after time ashore and enjoying our little treats and welcome notes everyday from our lovely butler Teodoro.
The cabin was spotless and kept that way all week thanks to our great steward Leo, it was a guessing game to see what towel arrangements we would have each evening! We had monkeys hanging from the cupboard, legs coming out from under the bed, swans etc... it really made us smile, it was the little touches like that that really added to the excellent service we received.
