This was our 11th cruise, our 2nd on Norwegian Getaway. This is a nice ship. As I read some of the other reviews, I believe that people are expecting more from a cruise than what is provided. If they would read the "what to expect " section prior to sailing a lot of disappointments can be alleviated. Cruising is your room and all basic meals free. If you want a special dinner or drinks, that's extra.
I feel like the cruise lines are beginning to change in a way that everything is mediocre unless you pay extra for it. The food in the dining rooms are ok, but if you want a spectacular dinner you have to pay extra. We ate in Ocean Blue one evening with my daughter, her husband and our grandson. It cost us over $200. So, be prepared, this seems to be the way things are moving. Sad, but true.
We purchased the all inclusive beverage package. I can go to a bar and have anything I want, but cannot take anything out of the mini fridge in my room without being charged for it. I don't understand that at all. I can get alcohol, soda, coffee in my all inclusive beverage package, but water costs me???? It's a little frustrating.

Ocho Rios
We took a catamaran to Dunn's River Falls and back to the ship. We had a good time on the catamaran and climbing the falls was fun. Would do it again
Grand Cayman (Georgetown)
Beach break and cookout - ok. The "free" drinks were watered down...the food was mediocre. The catamaran was fun!!
Cozumel
Fury Catamarans was the best excursion! We had a nice time snorkling, then the cruise to the beach break. Could have stayed on that beach all day. Would recommend this excursion, especially if you have kids.
