This was the 6th Carnival Cruise I have been on, and might be the last. I've cruised the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean multiple times, and have always been pleased with Carnival. This cruise might have been so awful due to the spring break crowd; it was rowdy, and to be blunt; trashy. However, the ship is also by far the most in need of updates than I've seen. I'd been on the Magic the last 3 times, so maybe I am just used to the newer of the ships, but I was shocked at how run down this cruise was. The linens on the bed and the pillows, etc. were literally worn out. The decorative pillows on the bed that match the bedspread should be thrown away, they had threads hanging, stains, etc.
Also, in general this cruise is just older and in need of updates. The carpets need steam cleaning, and repairs need to be made throughout the ship. Other than the ship looking worn out, the ship was clean. The Carnival employees are always cleaning, and they do an amazing job at that. The problem with Carnival I think, is that it just gets old after cruising with them a few times. It is the same food, the same entertainment, just nothing new. Which is fine you are a first time cruiser, but if they want repeat customers they need to step up the game. Also, the cruisers on this ship were really rough. Visibly drunk, stumbling, dressed inappropriately, cussing; I would have been so disappointed if I had a young child with me. This cruise reminded me of a fast food restaurant or a weird chain buffet restaurant.
The thing is, I feel bad complaining about Carnival because they have excellent staff, and so that is NOT the problem. Its the condition of the cruise; it needs updating immediately, and the passengers. Also, it gets pretty gross having to walk though the casino which is soooo smoky.
Nice cabin, decent amount of room, but VERY much in need of updating. Worn out, honestly a Motel 6 probably looks better than this room.
New Orleans is great. We walked around, went to cafe du monde, St. Thomas cathedral, etc. Beautiful and mysterious and full of history.
The service we had in Montego Bay and EVERY single person we encountered from Jamaica was awesome.
Went to stingray swim, so beautiful. Also went to 7 mile beach and as long as you can get away from the crowds, its stunningly beautiful.
Stunning.
We've been to Cozumel many times, and this time just walked around the port. Usually take a taxi to Chaankanaab.
