This is my first review on this website and I decided to post it because right after I had booked the cruise on the NCL Star I started reading the reviews and started to worry about my vacation since most were negative, with people complaining of many different things. This was our first time sailing with NCL (we have always sailed with Royal Caribbean) and from the moment we booked we started to wonder if we had made a good choice.

While it was not a perfect cruise, I can say that we did not experience any big problems or any of the problems other people complained. Although we still like Royal Caribbean better, NCL did a good job at making sure we had a good vacation. Below is my take on the many different experiences/activities during our cruise.

- Check-in: NCL makes you select your boarding time (where is the “Freestyle” guys??) and still, check-in was very, very slow with long lines inside the terminal. We waited in line for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once we finally got to the counter, process was quick since we had all papers and documents ready. Have been on cruises with way many more people boarding the ship and check-in was much quicker. This area really needs to be improved.
