Just a short cruise for 7 friends to celebrate a 70th birthday. The ship was lovely, decor great but the dining.....very 2nd rate. Have been 7 cruises before and all had white table silver service in dining rooms but Pacific Eden is very much plastic black table. Would not have been surprised to see plastic utensils. All dining rooms are Anytime but the Italian and Chinese have to be booked ahead. You are not allocated a dining table as on other cruise lines so you can get to know passengers. It is musical chairs. First day we tried to reserve at Dragon Lady for our celebratory dinner but no booking was available and we were told to try next day for cancellations.

The Pantry buffet was awful. Indian was mushy and nothing like Indian food, no taste at all, fish and chips were fine but no chips. Toast at breakfast was half cooked then warmed up when someone wanted toast. Bacon was just about raw and cold. All the food was luke warm..

Waterfront restaurant which is the main Anytime (no booking allowed) restaurant. You are giving a beeper for when a table is ready and could be anywhere which you have to take. Our group of 7 was given 2 separate tables. Serves were tiny, luke warm and no thought to presention. My rump steak was possibly on a sandal prior to cooking and rare was well done. I think you just get what comes. Wedge potatoes were cold and had been sitting around for a while for they were quite wrinkled. Dirty plates sat for ages on the table and we had to go before desserts arrived (which was ages) or we would have missed the show. Breakfast and lunches were not quite so bad, but no thought to presentation once again. Reminded me very much of private hospital food. No taste.

Cabin Review

Cabin IF Interior

Always kept clean and tidy but being such a short cruise hardly saw our steward. We did have to vacate room at 7am and at 6.30am he wanted to come in and fix the room. We had not finished using the facilities and felt shoved out. Never had that happen before. They probably have so many cabins to do before next group.
