This was our first cruise, so we chose a short 4 day cruise to get a feel for it. We normally vacation at resorts.

Check-in was not as long as anticipated. We arrived at the ship at 12:30 and were in our room by 1:30. We found our luggage on the carts and took it to the room ourselves. We also carried our luggage off at the end of the cruise, as I think most if the cruisers did. The Victory is a nice ship, with many activities that keep its guests hopping. Because of this, I didn't find the cruise relaxing. Crowds of people and the noise level also contributed to that. On the other hand, my teenage son felt there wasn't enough to do. He was signed up for the youth program, but wasn't impressed, so didn't attend.

We ate in the main dining room two evenings and found the service to be very slow, so opted for the Mediterranean Restaurant for most of our meals. The food was, in general, very good. Our room steward was always cheerful and called us by name, though I never learned her name. We spent very little time in the pool area, mainly because it was crowded and hard to find deck chairs. We did enjoy the dive-in movie and the piano bar sing-along. I found the Caribbean stage shows a bit corny, and avoided the smoky casino. We fell for the "come to such-and-such room for a giveaway", and we did get a few free things. Hubby was given a bottle of champagne for making a fool of himself onstage, and son won a Beats Pill in the arcade. I had a free facial and was given some cheap jewelry.

We found our stateroom to be roomy enough for the three of us. Didn't need the shoe organizer that I brought along. All our lotions and potions fit in the mirrored bathroom cabinet and under-counter shelf. We didn't need to buy bottled water, as the tap water tasted fine. And, we didn't have trouble finding our cabin. I only saw three cabin doors that had been decorated for easy identification. The doors and walls are not metal, so could not use the magnets I brought, but didn't need them anyway. Unless you are someone who plans to be out until after 12:30 a.m., the band playing in the Trident Bar directly below this cabin will probably keep you awake. That is my only complaint about this cabin.
