We just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Spirit. We were a little nervous after reading the negative reviews, but it was better than expected! This ship is small and you will feel it moving every where on the ship, front, back, mid, etc....If motion is an issue for you, take that into consideration or come prepared!! We booked two balcony cabins, 11630 & 11632. They were in a great, quiet location on the ship! Very convenient to Raffles restaurant (breakfast buffet) and the pool. Our room steward, Ritchie, was fantastic! Always had a smile and kept our room very tidy and greeted us by name every time he saw us, not to mention cute animal towels. The two negatives in the cabins are: (1) the hairdryers are horrible!! They desperately need to be updated. And, (2) there is only one outlet in the cabins - bring extension cords or power strip.

There is a note that says you can't plug a hairdryer in the one outlet. My teenager tried it, twice, and both times the outlet quit working. Ritchie got it fixed quickly! The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

The restaurants, for the most part, were much better than the reviews indicated. One restaurant, Shogun Asian Restaurant, was the only one that was bad--and it was very bad. We ate at all of the other restaurants - Garden & Windows were both very good. The French, Italian, Teppenyaki and Steak houses were all very good. We had lunch at the Blue Lagoon one day (fish & chips-fantastic!!). Read more
