Booked our trip to begin three days before boarding ship, wanted enough time to get over jet lag. Our trip was to be done in three legs as we started in Az. a long way from Genoa, our final destination to board ship. Arriving early was a great thought as we had plenty of time to rest up and get our first taste of Italian cuisine and hospitality.

Embarkation was probably our worst time as it took about an hour after check in to make it to our room, but compared to the last cruise line we sailed, three hours shorter time frame so we were still thrilled.

We were shown to our cabin, amazed at the spacious décor and the great balcony, we were greeted by a lovely bowl of fruit, a very roomy walk in closet, and a spotless, modern bathroom. We boarded around noon and after unpacking, and settling in ,we toured the ship until dinner time, getting our bearings, and discovering all this beautiful ship had to offer which was beyond my imagination, truly a floating city.
