This was our first cruise. We traveled with our daughters family which included 4 children. The youngest is 5. The staff at carnival helped us along the way to be comfortable right from the moment we walked up to the check in desk to the last moment we walked the final gangway.

Our room steward took time to talk to us everyday and share about his own life back home. He knew our names on the first day. Same thing during our diner in the Washington dining hall. Our waiter knew what the children wanted by the second day. Like a baked potato everyday with sour cream and bacon. And a bowl of fresh grapes when there wasn't any to be seen anywhere else. All we had to do was ask.

The inner stateroom on the first deck was clean, comfortable and roomy even for 4 people. It helped to keep everything in the big closets. We slept soundly to the humming of the big engines.

Plenty of room for a family of 4. Just slept and bathed there. Lots of closet space. We brought extra hangers. Also a small power strip and little fan. I would recommend a night light too. Very dark.
