This was my first Celebrity Cruise and overall I was impressed. If you are used to the average British cruise ship this is a step up. However if you are used to 5 star and/or Solstice Class ships then think of the ship as 4 star and hopefully you will not be disappointed. We chose the ship for the itinerary which is perfect if you want to get a feel for the southern part of South America. There was a good balance of sea days and port days. We were lucky with the weather as the seas around Cape Horn were not particularly rough and visibility was good. We were also lucky with visibility when we passed the five glaciers (stunning!) in the Beagle Channel (I think!) and the Chilean Fjords.

Buenos Aires surprised me! Yes you do have to be careful and take sensible precautions (we left all jewellery at home) but I thought it was an amazing city. We also took a flight to Iguazu falls which is highly recommended as a start or end to this holiday and of course had to visit a Gaucho ranch, Tango show and a boat trip in Tigre delta, just outside BA. It is well worth spending this extra time in Buenos Aires.

Wonderful destinations on the cruise were Ushuaia (amazing penguin excursion) and Puerto Montt where we visited a snow capped volcano (Osorno) and saw from a safe distance the one that erupted last year! (Calbuco) together with beautiful lakes and rapids. I have to agree with a previous review that the Celebrity excursions are over-priced. We joined various smaller private tours kindly organised by enthusiastic Cruise Critic Forum members!
