This was our first NCL cruise but are experienced with Carnival(3), Princess (2), and Royal (9).
Embarkation went fairly well in Miami. Check in was fairly quick but then were ushered into a large room with seats and given a number to wait. A little different than what we had experienced before on other brands and a little confusing as to the wait and felt a little ebb and flow instead of just flow. In my mind "flow" is much more efficient.
Room wasn't ready but had the drink package as a "perk" so grabbed a drink and got some lunch at the buffet. Be warned, even with the drink package while in port in Miami you pay Florida tax.
Had an angled balcony so a little bigger than the balcony on either side of us but still felt small. Privacy while standing at the rail is non existent but not bad when sitting at the back. Bathroom was relatively large and was appointed well. Good water pressure. Room was sparse but functional. Had a coffee maker which is nice. Only a couple of plugs. Bring your German converter and you'll be fine. Noise from hall was nothing but noise through the walls is another thing. Seemed really thin walls and could hear people talking about in every direction. Enough storage but not really any extra.
