Sail Date: Feb 2016

I have been on probably 6 or 7 cruises with Royal Caribbean in the last 15 years. This time I wanted to go on the BIG ONE! I have always thought that a ship couldn't be too big, as I had sailed on Mariner of the Seas previously. I was wrong. Allure was somewhat of a disappointment. Here is an overview of my trip....

Embarking: I have to say this was very impressive. From walking into the terminal to getting on board ship went faster than lightning. I have never been able to walk on aboard so quickly. I was checked-in in 5 minutes and allowed to board immediately. No waiting.

Once on-board the fleecing began.. beverage packages to sign up for. I choose the unlimited soda and water package. My friend choose one that cost $450 for unlimited alcoholic beverages for the week. Then to sign up for internet access. $15/day for one device. (I have to say that this ship has the best internet access I have ever experienced on-board a ship, almost too good!) Then of course one must sign up for shore excursions. And finally, one should choose which upcharged restaurants you might want for the week. If you sign up for 3 or more, you get a discount.
