Before we left on our cruise on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas I read every review on Cruise Critic. Most of the reviews were positive but there were a few negatives. This was our 10th cruise (9th of Royal Caribbean). Just a note, we have sailed on the sister ship of Oasis, Allure so we knew what to expect as far as size of the ship.

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale the day before and stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 Hotel which was really nice and a nice way to start our vacation. On Saturday morning we headed to the Port early to board the ship. Boarding went very smoothly and we were on the ship by 11:30 a.m. to get our vacation underway. The ship is truly beautiful. The ship is maintained perfectly and you can see that cleanliness is taken very seriously on this ship. We had lunch at the Windjammer which was good and were able to check into our balcony stateroom (12190)by 1:00 p.m. We met our cabin attendant, Lambert who from the very start was absolutely wonderful. The entire week on the Oasis was awesome. Our cabin was clean, and maintained perfectly for us the entire trip.

The food in the main dining room was wonderful as were all of the venues on the ship. We choose not to go to the specialty restaurants inasmuch as we have always been very satisfied with the MDR, etc. Entertainment was good. We enjoyed the Ice Show very much. The Sand artist at this show was absolutely amazing. The Headliner, Greg London, was great and was so fun. The Aqua show was really great and we gave RC a lot of credit, the show had to be cancelled a few times due to weather conditions but they were able to get the shows in so that everyone was able to enjoy them. Cats was very good also, just a bit lengthy. The comedy show was o.k., I would say that was our least favorite as far as entertainment. We enjoyed the Park West Art Auctions very much. They are always fun, informative, and it's always nice to enjoy fine art.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Our water based tour was cancelled due to weather. Took the island tour which was 2 1/2 hours and was fantastic. Only $25.pp and was a great way to spend the day and see the island.

Nassau

Took horse (Dr. Seuss) drawn carriage ride which was a really enjoyable 1/2 hour tour.
