I generally choose HAL for the itineraries. The ship is in really poor condition. Bathroom, broken shower tiles with mold, staining, and rust. Three water main breaks on second deck over 4 weeks. Loud construction noises on room nearby for four days, which then went on to being flooded. I did not choose my room you upgaded me to this.
Various areas of the ship where A/C didn't work or was overwhelmed. Food, breakfasts where good, but the rest was bland and just not good, lived off the room service menu. Gym, spa, and thermal suite very good.
Entertainment, might be passable if you are over 70. Ships captain and crew did a remarkable job getting us to the perfect place for the total eclipse. I thought the ship had been refurbished recently and expected much more. HAL you need to modernize and catch up with the market. I'm will to pay for premium if it is premium but not if it is substandard. Seem to have lost your way in the cruise industry.
The good, nice towels and a lot of storage space. Bad everything else, propeller noise when ship is docking but otherwise a quiet room, bathroom in bad shape, tiles falling off, mold, stains on the floor, so many safety handles in the shower you cant turn around. Old TVs, DVD player velcroed under the TV which periodically fell during the night. Storage bins under the beds initially unusable was fixed later in the cruise.
