This was our first cruise on Oceania. Our first cruise in about seven years. Previously on Holland America and Celebrity multiple times. The Riviera and Oceania exceeded our expectations. We had read many reviews before our trip, some great, some good, some bad. So, I really wasn't sure what to expect especially after hearing all the scuttle about the noro virus.
Embarking and disembarking the ship was seemless and best we have ever experienced on any ship.
Ship was immaculate and staff constantly cleaning. After three or four days at sea there must have been a concern about noro because the staff seemed to be wiping everything down all the time. This subsided slightly after a few days. Heard no concern from staff or guests about noro. Glad they were being diligent.
Enjoyed our suite. Penthouse suites have plenty of room. Large walkin closet. We had an issue with our safe not functioning well. Security came to try and fix and advised due to the constant cleaning/disinfecting, the electronic boards on many of the safes were malfunctioning. We overcame this issue. Bathroom was great, especially liked the large sink vs. smaller sinks on most ships. Our Butler, Bosco, was wonderful. didn't use him much but when we did he was great. He snagged us our second reservation at Red Ginger with a lovely table for two. Enjoyed sitting on the deck especially while in port. Had a challenge with internet in room. Worked fine in most areas of the ship but in our room it was spotty.
Stingray tour was our favorite excursion on the cruise. Fabulous
Rainy day in Cozumel. Jeep tour was ok. Went to lovely spot for lunch right on the beach. Sun came out for lunch.
Cozumel not that exciting.
Tour was enlightening. Belize City not too exciting.
Went to a lovely hotel on a tiny island. Beach was remarkable. Nice relaxing day.
We did our own walking tour and went to Little White House and Hemmingway house. Tour really not needed, could walk everywhere.
