Having cruised 34 times before Cunard's Queen Elizabeth, I can offer a perspective on how QE compares to other lines.

Our embarkation at Southampton was smooth. No issues with luggage or transport to pier. The layout of the ship is great.

Seating in the dining room for the evening is by table assignment at an assigned time. Cunard requires a dark suit or tux for formal nights for the men or a sports jacket for the casual nights. As we had about 17 formal nights, this was far too many nights to dress up on vacation.

Port Reviews

Southampton

This was our embarkation port and we did our own side trip to London.

Madeira (Funchal)

Madeira was an interesting destination. Went to the botanical gardens and bought some Banana liqueur which was excellent.

Cape Town

Great tour encompassed so many things in one day

Perth (Fremantle)

Unique tour of a vineyard.
