Just got off the Escape and I was a little concerned after all of the mixed reviews. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We raced to the port to get boarding group 1 so that we could get Vibe passes. We then raced to headliners once we were on the ship to get the passes. We were lucky enough to get them. They now require each person to get their own number; you cannot hold a spot or take a number for a spouse or other members of your party.
The ship was spotless and beautiful. We had the old dining package and ate in speciality restaurants every night but one. We tried the lamb in the Manhattan dining room one night. Personally, I prefer the speciality restaurants but that is me; others we met said they were very happy with the main dining rooms.
We ate at Cagneys twice, Moderno twice and went to the Brat Pack show (it was outstanding with the best meal of any of the supper club shows) and to Brenda Braxton's Caberet dinner show. What really struck me was how wonderful the crew were, everyone was very friendly and they seemed generally interested in hearing the good and the bad (so that they could fix it). It was a wonderful cruise.
Loved the spa shower and the updates to the room. Our room steward, Ambiro, I believe, was outstanding as well.
The crew was very attentive but there were way too many people for our liking. I would try to book a private tour next time.
Was was too crowded on the boat; captain and crew were nice. Since we had such a short time at the port; felt it was safer to book with the cruise line but we were really packed in. Snorkeling was good and it was nice that the crew got in the water with us.
