For our second cruise, we took our teenage children on their first cruise. Our cruise was a 5 night cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. On arrival, I dropped the family and luggage at the cruise port and went to park in the cruise parking. The line to park took forever, but everything else went smoothly. We had "Faster to the Fun", so the line for embarkation was short. One thing to note: Bring only canned soft drinks. Our bottled drinks were confiscated. Once on board, everything was great.
We stayed in a balcony room on the upper deck. The cabin was large for a cruise ship and was ready as soon as we were on board. Our checked luggage arrived after we had eaten lunch and returned to the room. The room was clean and well maintained. Our room steward, E, did an excellent job. Our room was a handicap accessible room, but had a desk, 2 chairs, a stool, a large closet, large mirrors and bathroom. The balcony was a great place to escape to as well.
Dining was very enjoyable. There were unique menu items each night as well as some selections that were available every night. The second sea day is the formal dining night, so no t-shirts or shorts allowed. We did notice that the buffet at night had some of the same selections that were available in the dining room. Our waiters Natalino and Peter were superb. This ship does not have the steak house that some ships offer, but there are steakhouse options (such as Surf and Turf) available in the dining room for $20 extra.
The wait to park takes a long time.
A day at the beach. It was wonderful.
Our children thoroughly enjoyed the dolphin swim and ride. It was my daughter's favorite thing she did on the cruise.
