My husband and I, in our 60s, enjoyed a week on Regal Princess with our son and daughter in law, 30s, the week of February 28 - March 6. We are Florida residents and drove to the port, arriving about 11:30 a.m. We were onboard shortly after noon and our first stop was the Horizon Buffet for lunch. We enjoyed the variety of food on offer, and my daughter in law, who is Chinese, appreciated the Asian food section of the buffet. After lunch, we went to inspect our cabins, which were two inside connecting cabins on the Caribbean deck. I was pleased to find they were spacious and well laid out. The beds were comfortable, there was ample storage space, the bathroom was adequate, and the connecting door was nice so we could open it and talk without having to go out into the hall.

The ship is beautiful and fairly new; we were told it is the flagship of the Princess fleet. We chose fixed dining and were seated in the Concerto dining room at 5:30 each evening; a couple hours later, the room accommodated anytime diners. The head waiter, waiter and assistant in our section worked together well and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the food and special desserts such as cherries jubilee that we don't have at home. One evening we chose to enjoy the fondue offerings in a cordoned off section of the Horizon ($20 pp), but we did otherwise enjoy the dining room and did not try the other specialty restaurants.

We enjoyed the variety of entertainment, from production shows and featured performers including a comedian and a woman singing impressionist, in the Princess Theater, as well as the game shows and other entertainment in the smaller venues. There were two cooking demonstrations, one followed by a galley tour. For fans of trivia and bingo, there were daily chances to play. The casino stayed busy but was not overcrowded. We never had a chance to view the Movies Under the Stars because we were busy with the other activities. The cruise director, Martyn, had a good sense of humor and mingled with the passengers, and the cruise staff were personable and enthusiastic.
