I would love to be an NCL stock holder. Their cruise ships are just floating machines that extract $ from your pockets. Everything seems to be an additional charge. You feel nickel and dimed to death. But, I guess all cruise lines are like that these days. If I could have resisted the temptation to purchase goods/services/food/drinks/treatments I guess I could have disembarked with a smaller charge on my credit card. I suppose cruising is a rich man's vacation and not the real vacation value it was 20 years ago.

And now for my random observations and comments about my week on the Norwegian Star ...

If you take this cruise I would strongly recommend the following 2 shore excursions: Zip Lining in Roatan, Honduras - it was 12 zip lines (2miles I think they said) above the jungle. I was apprehensive at first but when I saw an 82 year old lady go ahead of me I relaxed and had a great time. The other is the 12 Metre Yacht Regatta in Cozumel, Mexico. Best adventure of my life! You get the opportunity to be a crew member on the 1987 Dennis Connor's America's Cup Stars & Stripes or the Canadian ship True North IV. You will not be disappointed! For both of these adventures I would recommend using a GoPro camera strapped to your body somewhere to record the memories. Another "on board" excursion is the Behind the Scenes Tour. I highly recommend it. We toured the kitchens, laundry area, backstage at the theater, and the onboard recycling area. You will be impressed by how environmentally friendly and responsible NCL is. Kudos to NCL.
