We booked this cruise because we were attending a wedding in Malaysia at the end of February. The cruise was a perfect fit leaving Colombo, Sri Lanka, arriving in Singapore in time for our wedding. We would visit several places we had never visited before including Mayanmar.

We declined the air and 2 days either end of the trip, instead taking the discount and making our own travel arrangements. Embarkation at the port was the easiest ever. The taxi took us right up to the ship, we checked and within 5 minutes were in our room. We had a junior suite, 804, which was very nice. Lovely big bathroom with full sized bath, good hair dryer and walk-in closet. Lots of room but not very good hangers. I asked Ian, our cabin attendant, for some skirt hangers which he duly brought. An easy thing for them to upgrade. Very spacious room. Comfortable bed. Nice side tables with a plug in night light. The balcony was disappointing being long and narrow. We never actually sat out there but that was OK because there were other places to sit. The AC system is forced air and requires some adjustment to reduce the noise. We would keep it open all day and then close it down somewhat at night. We were always comfortable. However, there was one cabin on our floor which had trouble with theirs. We had free wifi and laundry(with room) and wifi was generally good but only in two locations. Free water in our room and always bottled water when we left the ship.

Of course there is no casino and no theater. Pianist, trio and demonstration dancing along with dane lessons. We did not attend. The cruise director was disappointing. He didn't do very much other than introduce the lecturers and hold a couple of trivia nights. He was retiring and a new director joined the ship in Thailand. I hope he is more in evidence on future cruises. He had a Shorex team of highly educated young graduates who did all the paperwork and chaperoned us on the tours.
