Sail Date: Feb 2016

My husband and I sailed on the 11 night Ultimate Exotic Caribbean cruise from February 22 till March 4. This was about our 20th cruise and 7th on Celebrity. We flew into Miami the night before and stayed at the Springhill Suites there because our flight didn't get in until about 10 pm. My daughter works for Marriott so we get great deals at their hotels. We decided to Uber to Port Everglades in the morning. It was fabulous. We had never Ubered before so we got a $20 credit with a discount code. The charge was $20.35. Awesome, cost 35 cents. Arrived at the port about 11. Went right through check in and waited to board for about an hour. This was our third Solstice class ship so we knew our way around. Went right up to buffet and had a great lunch. It was a beautiful day. Ate out back at the Sunset bar, one of our favorite spots on the ship. We were blessed with great weather throughout except for rain at our rainforest port, Costa Rica and later in the day in Panama.

The entertainment on the ship was hit or miss. The singers in the duet were flat as was the female singer in the house band. The DJ was good. The Equinox orchestra was wonderful. We really enjoyed the production shows, the Flashback Five (or four, can't remember), Leonardo, the pianist, and Jane Curry. We didn't think the comedian was funny. The cruise director, Alejandro, was hilarious, however. Don't miss Liars Club. We loved the three ports we had never visited before--Limon, Costa Rica, Colon, Panama, and Cartegena.

The service and food in the main dining room were great. We had any time dining and had great waiters. We had reservations every night and got in within about three minutes of walking up to the hostess. This ship really has their act together in the dining room. Food comes out quickly, hot, and tasty. It was by far and away the best service we have had on a cruise. We got ice tea every night and our empty glasses were replaced everytime they got low. This has never happened before.

Cozumel

We took a cab to Paradise Beach Club. We shared the cab with a couple also waiting. Cost was $15 for the 4 of us. It cost $3 to get into the Paradise Beach Club. The beach is not the greatest but we are beach snobs. We loved the pool. It is very large and has lounge chairs in shallow water. Heavenly. We also had to buy $10 each in food and drinks. We could possibly have gotten by without buying this but after seeing the delicious looking food others were eating, we had to have some to. Very good chicken quesadillas and sides.

Puerto Limon

Nice enjoyable ride. Saw mostly birds.

Colon (Cristobal)

Wonderful experience. Everyone should do this at least once in their life.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Took city bus to Seven Mile Beach. Bus terminal is next to public library. Cost is $2.50. Got off at Beach Access at Ritz Hotel. Have been to Seven Mile Beach numerous times. Maybe my memory isn't accurate, but beach didn't seem as nice as I remembered it. Has anyone else had this experience? There were a lot of broken up shells and rocks right at beach line. Then there was a huge step off as you entered water. It was very difficult to get out as there was a big step up and I sank into the soft sand. My husband had to help pull me out. I don't remember it being this way in the past.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Got off ship and was going to take taxi. Woman talked us into tour. For $20 we got 4.5 hour tour and saw most sights in city. Great tour, great sights, great city. Loved it. Glad we had overnight here.
