What a wonderful 7 days we had on board the Carnival Splendor. Six female friends all celebrating our 70th birthday so right there you know that we would have a great time. But to be specific, here are the highlights:

1. Kevin the cruise director!!! What a fun, visible, engaging and skilled cruise director he was. These are the folks who set the tone for the ship and he made everything so much fun. I have been on 19 cruises and on some you only see the cruise director on the first night and then you hear his voice every once in a while. Not so with Kevin..what a gem.

2. Food on all levels exceptional with a great variety. I was with two very fussy women who raved about the food...there was nothing you could not find and the menus were filled with great choices.

Cabin Review

Cabin inside floor 8 aft

terrific and larger than most cruise ships. Refrigerator in room, plenty of storage, bathroom good size

Port Reviews

Miami

Port is easy to get to and embarkation was easy. Great way to start. Parking for the week was 140 dollars right across from the ship in the garage.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Actually boring. Nothing in port because it's too new. NOt sure how the excursions were but we did have great weather.

San Juan

Took a nice ride to a casino, lost but still had a nice time driving through the city. We had been here so many times before that we skipped anything organized.
