My husband and I traveled with two other couples on a southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Liberty. Our very first cruise was on the Carnival Mardi Gras in 1977 and we didn't cruise again until the late nineties with our three kids on the Carnival Fascination. This was followed by at least a dozen RCCL and Celebrity cruises. I'll admit we were not sure if we would like Carnival as much as its competitors. However our expectations were far exceeded.
While we still prefer the design, traffic flow and decor of RCCL and Celebrity, our cabin was wider and there was ample storage space, We also preferred the square shower to the tube. The service was extraordinary. Unobtrusive and friendly and we did not have to go to guest services at all to resolve any problems. We also felt there was less hawking to upgrade or buy things and less of a "class " system like separate dining rooms , pools etc for suite guests or high level frequent cruisers. Everything was very clean and well kept. The food overall was better than the other line and we ate in all of the venues except the steak house that required fees. The burger and buritto bars were very good and conveniently located by the pool The adult only serenity area was delightful. The entertainment was very good and we loved the comedy club.
We did only independent excursions so I cannot speak to the cruise run shore excursions.
See above. Overall the cabin was very spacious and clean. Very good storage. Comfortable bed but a little saggy. Location was ideal. Liked the square shower with curtain verses a tube.
We have been here on numerous occasions so we just walked off the ship and did a little shopping in the adjacent village. Our friends walked into town though and enjoyed the boardwalk and the beach. They took a water taxi back
Beach day at Magen's bay. Took a taxi, very convenient and they stopped fro picture taking.
Sent pre cruse at Embassey Sutes. Nice pool and breakfast
We took a taxi for $25.00 each when you share with others and took a three hour Island tour. It was with Reuben's Taxi Service.
We did an independent small group excursion that took in the fort and a batik factory.
There was a stop a a local beach as well which had a nice restaurant, land lounge chairs to rent.
We had never been here before and booked a small group tour with James tours. It was excellent. We visited the volcanic mud baths, and a waterfall. We had an amazing lunch at a local restaurant.
