ms Prinsendam is a smaller ship of 561 guests and 478 Crew. We commenced our voyage Sunday January 5, 2014 at 12 midnight. The ship and our accommodations were great. We were told that a smaller ship was needed for the 7 days we cruised the Amazon River and the 4 glorious days we spent exploring Antarctica. We stopped at the USA outpost, Palmer Station, Antarctica and welcomed aboard 10 scientists who took over the job of telling us what we were looking at.

Instead of someone saying "hey look at that big iceberg" we were told its name, how old, how tall and how deep and any other stories or specifics of that iceberg. It was awesome. We visited 39 ports, went through the Panama Canal, stood at the end of the end of the World in Ushuaia, Argentina, we crossed the Equator and toured Devils Island, French Guiana. We visited Lima, Peru, Arica, Chile, Valparaiso (Santiago) Chile, Punta Arenas, Chile, Montevideo, Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Manaus, Brazil,and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Bridgetown, Barbados and Oranjestad, Aruba and many other wonderful ports.

After 69 days and 15,905 Miles and an encounter with Somali pirates who look at our razor wired ship traveling at a top speed of 20 knots, water cannons pointed downward, and Officers with binoculars scanning the seas aside the African Continent. The Captain bought everyone a drink when all worked out. We arrived back in Fort Lauderdale on March 14, 2014 at 7AM. What a splendid adventure.
