We are just back from a 5 day on the Fascination - KW and Nassau. Had a very nice time. We took our DS, almost 5 and 11, and they had a ball as usual. The Cat 12 was a GREAT move on our part, since we could book it as a suite guarantee. We looked in the OV (I had originally booked that way) and am thrilled I spent the extra money, because they are very small; of course, I have been on the Legend and Valor with balconies, so I guess it is not a fair comparison. Since this was a college spring break week, the majority of the cruise was 18-25 year olds - made for lots of eye candy on the Lido deck - when we were passing through. This vacation was simply to relax, so we spent a lot of time reading out on the balcony while the kids were in CC.

The priority embarkation/debarkation made both so easy; can't wait 'til I'm platinum and get that every time! Many people don't seem to think that it is much of a perk. We certainly did as Group 1 was called to be escorted off the ship promptly at 9 as advertised, long before most of the self-debarkation passengers; only Rivera and Main decks made it off before we did. We were loaded and on the road by 9:20.

DH and DS (11) loved KW; neither had been before. We took the trolley around the town, got off at the southern most point/butterfly museum for a look around. The museum is pricey, but if you like butterflies, it is worth it. We had a cuban and some conch fritters at the restaurant just off the square. Nassau was just Nassau - as my DH said, it was more run down/dirty than he expected (though I tried to prep him for it). We took the #10 Jitney to Adastra Gardens - what a lovely little zoo! We spent about 2 hours feeding the lorikeets, watching the flamingo parade and enjoying the animals - it's mostly shady, so that was a plus. From there, we took a cab to Fort Fincastle and walked down Queens Staircase and back to the boat. My DS (5) held up for the walk, so I was happy.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Cat 12 are GREAT! Perfect for a family of 4 and love having the larger balcony. We were mid-ship, and the mid-ship elevator was basically useless to us as it stops at the P deck, and we had to take the rear elevators to get to our dining room due to kitchen placement. Tub is nice for small kids - but pretty small for an adult.
