Sail Date: Feb 2016

Britannia is a great-looking ship that really flies the flag! Because it's so large you should expect some walking to move around and should allow some time. The ship is kitted out sylishly with sophisticated decor and everything is beautifully maintained. The atrium, I suspect, was designed simply to promote the ship in its publicity material as it didn't add anything at all to our on-board experience. Some of the space might have been better utilised by adding it to the Costa Coffee lounge area which was always crowded.

DINING

The buffet dining area is larger than average. We have sailed on ships where there isn't room to sit down at peak times but we always got a table on Britannia even on "at sea" days when there's always extra pressure on places. The lunchtime buffet food was good but unadventurous (we didn't go there in the evenings when there are themes).

Port Reviews

Barbados

Great sandy beaches - very scenic.

Grenada

Plenty to see in and around port if you're a first time visitor

Curacao

Enjoyed strolling around the town. There are moving bridges, floating cafes, etc.

Aruba

We went independenly to Maho Beach to watch the aircraft landing at head-high level. Health & Safety prevents P&O from running excursions. I got some great videos!

Tortola

We went to the Botannical Gardens because we enjoy tropical plants. It turned out be very low key but we really enjoyed it. Again got some great photos.
