Cyclone Winston took a 180 degree turn as we departed from Sydney and headed back to Fiji, whilst we started our journey to Isle of Pines.

Three days later we had our visit to Isle of Pines just as the cyclone started to hit Fiji, so we went to Noumea rather than Mystery Island, then off to Brisbane away from cyclone.

So our trip was slightly different but the captain of the ship was excellent, he informed everyone what was happening daily and did a video with maps etc and put on TV with cruise director to justify all that was happening.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Live in Sydney but love scenery around Circular Quay as we leave.

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

It was very windy. Have been many times so just walked around taking photo's and swam at main beach. Noted many blue bottles on beach near sacred rock. Lots of bites from sea lice in the water to most people, but only small stings.

Noumea

Been many times before. Just went for walk up the hill to lookout and to the large church, then walking around town. Now has two duty free alcohol shops, both slightly cheaper than the ship, but not as cheap as Port Vila.

Brisbane

Took the shuttle bus into city from Grain terminal ( about 40 minutes each way ) cost was $15 US dollars ( about $22 Aust round trip ), so price was OK.

Met family in town and just went for the free ferry ride ( city hopper) up and down the river, then walked around city and riverfront, all good.
