My cruise on the Breakaway was one of the best trips I have ever been on! NCL staff is always amazing but I think the Breakaway staff went above & beyond. The food was great - I didn't do any specialties but ate in Savor & Taste with 1 night in the buffet & 1 night in Manhattan Room. Never had a problem getting a drink at any bar - once had to wait like 5 minutes. Met the most incredible people & we had so much fun just going from venue to venue! I didn't like the whole reservation process for some of the shows but it didn't ruin my vacation - there was always something else to do.

This was the first cruise where I joined up with my Cruise Critic roll call group & what a great group we had! At the M&G with staff, they asked that we please let them know about any problems while onboard so they could try to fix them - versus just going home mad & writing a bad review. I had a pile of business cards from staff members who asked that I call them with any issues. Even if I had not attended the M&G there were opportunities for Q&A sessions with staff throughout the cruise.

I stayed in a Studio & the solo coordinator Antwan was fabulous. He arranged meetings & shows. Burn the Floor was great. We were scheduled for the last performance of Rock of Ages but it was cancelled for some reason & they had the 2 lounge singers (Alvin & Emily?) perform instead - had no desire to go to that show. Rumor was that Rock of Ages was cancelled because 1 performer left & their replacement missed the ship - maybe they could have just substituted some songs/performances from Rock of Ages instead? Howl at the Moon was so much fun - Drew, Ben & Kim were great & super nice.

Studio Stateroom

Cabin T1

Perfectly adequate for 1 person - great storage & I overpack. I would have liked a drawer but just used the shelves. 1 solo traveler was complaining that the Breakaway studios are smaller than the Epic studios but he complained about everything. Even the lighting was great once I figured it all out.
