I was puzzled by the negative reviews about Infinity. She is an older ship and maybe does not have all the bells and whistles of the mega ships, but she is kept spotlessly clean, the food is great, the entertainment fine and the staff and crew could not be friendlier.

This is not a cruise for everybody, it involves a lot of sea days, mostly in miserable, cold weather with some rough seas. Nevertheless, we sailed around Cape Horn in the most spectacular weather and watched the sunrise. Antarctica is spectacular and we had great viewing weather in Paradise Bay and Elephant Island. A storm blew up in The Drake Passage which entailed us having to take shelter around Deception Island. Unfortunately fog came in and we were unable to see anything ... but that is the chance you take with this kind of trip. Because of the storm, the Captain had to reschedule our itinerary which took out Puerto Madryn and arriving in the Falklands a day late. The weather was warm as we approached Montevideo and we were able to take advantage of the open decks.

My only negative is the Sky suite we had which is 9121. It has an overhang on the deck which means it receives no sun at all. We had a problem with noise above which was eventually solved when it was discovered that the door to the table tennis room was catching on the threshold. This partially solved the problem, but we were still aware of noise during the night when people would go into the table tennis room to smoke. Guest relations did help to solve the problem and were most generous to compensate us. We took to wearing ear plugs which did help. I could not recommend this sky suite to anyone who likes to sit on a sunny verandah (it is also very, very small) or who is a light sleeper. It is a suite that can be used by a disabled person and is very conveniently placed.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

If you are deaf and disabled and don't like the sun, you will really enjoy this Cabin. Extremely convenient position, next to elevators and stairs, midship. We were assigned this cabin because we had opted for a guaranteed Sky Suite S2 I should mention that Guest Relations did compensate us for the sleepless nights and problem with noise.
