First the terrific: Tampa port is user friendly, boarding, departing and other logistics perfect, entertainment and featured band was much better than I expected, evening dinner reasonable and very well served, steward attentive and ship very clean. Also, we saw up close how well a serious medIcal emergency was handled. Plus we had to skip a port due to weather and that was handled well too.

But....the breakfast and lunch buffet and dining room food was just okay. However enough staff were indifferent, bordering on surly, to make the experiences unpleasant. Probably most disappointing was that the infrastructure, like buffet and pools, were simply too small for a full ship. That was made worse by two groups who made up, I think, nearly half the guests. The smaller group was present but low key. The larger group, while mostly pleasant, traveled in herds and simply overwhelmed, especially after their meetings.

Finally, while most of the ship was in decent shape, some things like the sofa in our room, showed signs of being around too long. Would I recommend and/or go on the ship or similar one again? Maybe, but it would have to really fit my schedule and destination wishes plus I would pay close attention to recent reviews and ask if there are any big groups booked! It is a shame.....it was close but disappointing.
