We are a family of 5 - including a 9, 7 and 1 year old - traveling with a larger group of extended family of about 12. This was our first cruise with our children. We choose MSC as "kids sail free" was too good to pass up! We are easy going and our expectations for this cruise were mixed from reading some of the reviews before we embarked – we weren’t really sure what to expect.
Embarkation sucked- long LONG wait time, but we found out later that the cruise before us was a party cruise that left behind some horrible damage & messes for the crew & authorities to deal with.
The ship was great- beautiful, clean and well appointed. Our cabin had a balcony - 10th floor - no complains - with 3 kids we could always use more space however the room was a good size for a smaller family & our cabin steward always kept everything clean.
Good size cabin - clean, very little wear. Pullout double couch- aft- last cabin on it's side- only neighbours on 1 side.
We took a taxi to Coki beach & enjoy the beach & water for the day. Did some light souvenir shopping by the port before getting back on the ship. It was an enjoyable day.
As the port is right in Old San Juan an excursion isn't really necessary. We had fun exploring the old city & walking Paseo del Morro fort.
Busy port- just waited to get on the ship
