MSC Divina Cruise Jan 30 – Feb 10, 2016
Ports of call: Jamaica, Aruba, Costa Rica, Panama and Costa Maya
This was a wonderful ship - in fact the complaints that I have seen on here are quite upsetting. I have cruised over 20 cruises and this was my first time on an MSC cruise and I have a list of things that I found to be better than other ships as well as some things that I didn’t like. However, way more good than bad on this ship. My friend and I boarded the ship in a matter of just a few minutes no big waiting lines in the port of Miami. You did not have to give your charge card information upon arrival (this way one way to speed up getting on board) all you had to do was go to a Kiosk and swipe your card to set up your on board charge account. There was also Kiosk’s for shore excursions as well that you could use to avoid long lines at the excursion desk or guest services. We purchased a drink voucher package which was $92.00 and allowed you 18 drinks (value up to $9.00) . I had never seen any drink packages like this you could buy a beer package for $59.00 and so on….many choices and not the normal $200+ packages that other lines try to sell you for wine. We could have any drink of choice, in fact there was not one that we wanted that we could not have in our package. It was the best investment we made. However, the prices of the drinks on MSC were the most reasonable that I have ever seen on any ship. So if you didn’t buy a package the alcohol and soda was very reasonable.
Wonderful Trip down the Marthe Brae River with our guide Joe!
We had lunch at The Paddock right on the water, went to the beach, and shopped for jewelry. Beautiful day!
We loved the people in Costa Rica and the beauty of the area. Did some shopping, had a drink people watched. Went to the park, the beach and relaxed.
Was a great trip. I did not care for Portobelo and would not recommend that part of the tour.
I did not take any excursion. I did stay over at the Marriott Residence in Miami at the Airport. I would highly reccomend it.
