It is difficult to find any aspect of this ship or this holiday experience that is positive . I am 70 years old and it is the worse holiday experience ever encountered. The ship is scruffy and would be better served carrying coal than human passengers. There were no standards and the officer class in their "whites" appeared to do little other than strut about amongst the chaos. The cabin staff were excellent and did their very best to maintain some semblance of standards in our cabin. The steward had a white marker pen which he used daily to hide the rust stains and grime in the shower room to the best of his ability. The food can only be described as slop. Everything tasted the same if you were brave enough to eat it. The meat used is best described as road kill. Presentation of food was no existent. The Piazza San Marco resembled a Star Wars bar , fit for animals and little else. The beer was reasonable but all spirits and cocktails were generally undrinkable as the cheapest of spirits were used, generally watered down and bartenders didn't have a clue what they were putting in drinks. Entertainment was " bad Benidorm " standard. I keep mentioning the word standards, because on this ship there were none. There were massive training issues as the staff had little idea of what they were doing and were led by white shirts more interested in strutting than supervising. In all it could only be described as a horrible experience. As a cruise line it fails miserably. Unfortunately we had already booked and paid a deposit on another Thompsons cruise in August and our experience was so bad we are considering losing our £500 deposit rather than subject ourselves to another episode of Thompson Cruises. I still have difficulty in coming to terms with the appalling standards offered by Thompson I pity anyone who will have the misfortune to travel on this disgusting vessel. To rate it as one star is grossly over generous.

Cabin Review

Cabin outside plus

The cabin was "tired". However the cabin staff tried their very best to maintain some standard. The steward daily went round with a marker pen to blot out the rust and grime stains that could not be removed by general cleaning. I cannot speak highly enough of their effort which unfortunately were overshadowed by the sub standard accommodation.
