We flew into San Juan the day before the cruise and stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Miramar. The hotel room was very nice and the location was excellent for last minute shopping as there was a grocery store "Pueblo" and movie theatre within a 5 minute walk. If you wanted there was also a full service concierge for tours and information in San Juan however my partner and I opted instead to nap and see a late night movie at the theatre.
The next day we went out for breakfast at a restaurant named Laperada within a block of our hotel, we had a full breakfast of eggs, ham, coffee, buttered toast and bottled water for $7.00. At $3.50 each I thought I better get the waitress to correct the tab but she itemized it and sure enough it was so inexpensive I felt guilty when leaving.
We took a taxi to the ship for about $20.00, got out and the check in process took about 15 minutes before we got on the ship, the only glitch was Celebrity didn't send us name tags for our luggage, they had to be printed when we dropped off our luggage, the employees that take the luggage were a bit frustrated with everyone showing up without luggage tags, Celebrity name tags help get your luggage to your room.
This specific room has a HUGE balcony because it is on the corner of the ship, it's twice the size of the others.
Very large bathroom and shower compared to the average cruise line.
