We are platinum with Princess and chose this cruise as it was round trip our of San Francisco which eliminated flying. We have 4 more cruises booked with Princess through June 2017, the last one on Pacific Princess a smaller ship. This being said we may not be booking additional cruises with Princess. We are tired of seeing the terrible waste of paper promoting sales on board, the photo gallery, SPA and the art sales etc etc. Every day our mail box by our cabin was filled with sales ads that we weren't interested in, causing us to wonder why Princess cant be more ecologically conscious on the use of paper and printer ink. We are tired of being harassed for our photos when leaving the ships at Ports or formal nights. Again there seems to be a terrible waste of paper from the unsold photos.
On ship there were always items being sold, bingo cards, the casino, racks of clothes, tables of watches etc. Some passengers might enjoy this but we found it cheapened the feel of the ship and made it seem like a department store rather than a ship.
The casino is near the Passenger services desk and the smell of tobacco smoke is strong when doing business at passenger services. The doors to the casino are kept open. Again, always trying to get a buck from passengers by keeping the casino in plain sight to tempt passengers.
Our cabin, D618 a mini-suite needed updating, our bed was so hard that we had a difficult time sleeping and the sofa was worn and in need of replacement.
Informative boat ride through port to Estuary for birding, then a beautiful ride on a wagon along a coconut palm lined sandy beach then lunch at restaurant with beach time . All time favorite excursion
We walked to Wal-Mart near the ship to stock up on souvenirs and toiletries. This seemed to be a popular spot for cruisers and other tourists. We have been to P.V. before and the excursion we wanted was sold out.
We love round trips at San Francisco as we dont need to fly. The cruise terminal is new and very efficient.
