Sail Date: Jan 2016
Cabin: Junior Suite

This was my 7th cruise with Royal Caribbean and 20th overall.

I'd been looking forwarding to sailing on a Voyager class ship for some time because a travel agent friend had raved about the Mariner OTS. My husband and I thought the Navigator was absolutely beautiful and did not disappoint. We never felt "crowded" except in the Windjammer which we didn't frequent often, except for a couple of lunches.

We chose My Time Dining (for the first time), and really liked it. We usually ate between seven and eight o'clock, and were seated in the same section each evening, being served by the same wait staff who were extremely attentive and friendly. We thought the selections and quality of food were very good, and the portions just right. We also ate breakfast and lunch in the dining room several times. Being night owls, we wish there had been another option other than Sorrento's after Windjammer closed.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Our updated junior suite, slightly aft, was super-spacious and boasted a bath tub, granite counter top, a huge walk-in closet and tons of drawer space, too. Our spacious balcony accommodated a table, two chairs and a lounger. I agree with some of the other reviewers in that the pillows were definitely 'thin'. And, with another reviewer who commented on railings needing to be re-stained and/or varnished.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We live in Florida and drive to the departure ports on day of embarkation.

We have sailed out of Port Everglades many times. In our opinion, Terminal 29 is really not suited to handling large ships.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We have visited Grand Cayman numerous times and had gone to Hell, to the turtle farm, to the beaches, etc.

This time, we walked to Kirk Freeport Mall where I purchased a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Red Eau de Toilette at La Parfumerie at Bayshore. I should have asked for a sampler before handing over my money. Turns out that instead of being manufactured in Italy (as all my previous purchases of this product were), it is now made in Germany, and to my great disappointment this re-introduction of Dolce & Gabbana Red is nothing like the original product which I loved. Buyer beware! It seems knock-offs are everywhere!

We also visited a bayfront restaurant we had been to before and enjoyed a beer on the balcony.

Labadee

I did not get off the ship as I had been there numerous times and dislike being hounded by the merchants.

My husband did go ashore for a little while and noted that a lot more shops, activities and facilities have been added since our last visit.
