My wife and I decided to go on a cruise for valentines day and just to vacation without the kids. We love to travel and see different places. Being in our late 40's we really want to make the best of our time. We drove to Manhattan Pier 88 to embark on the Norwegian Breakaway looking forward to this ship. Boy do I wished I had stay home. We were told to board between 12-12:30. We arrived at 12 and were held outside in 7 degree weather for 2 hours. Then we waited another 2 hours to get our boarding pass. So it took 4 hours before we got on the ship with bad directions, information, and frost bitten hands and feet. No one to greet us, poor customer service.
Because of a bad weather forcast they decided not to go to the private island that we paid for but spent and extra day at sea then a stop a beautiful port canaveral florida (yes being very sarcastic). No time to do anything as they arrived late. So we rented a car, did laundry and went to buy water at BJ's. First nights dinner at Cagneys Steakhouse sucked. Food was horrible. Our next disembarkation port was Nassau Bahamas as we did not stop at the Great Stirrup Islands as advertised. That was okay and we found a taxi tour to show us some sights that were interesting. We spent about 45 minutes at the beach that was not very clean embarked back to the ship which was crazy again.
For such a large ship there should have been more, which lasted longer. Our cabin which was a balcony view, was clean, but small for two people. That was The only reason I won't give it a zero is because the site wouldn't let me. Do no waste your time or money with Norwegian. The activities were just okay
Cabin was a little small but the guy in charge of cleaning our stateroom did an awesome job.
Embarkation was horrible. Totally unorganized. Misinformation. Took 4 hours to board after being told it shouldn't be long at all. No greeting or friendly faces upon embarkation. Nothing extra after the horrible start.
Embarkation and Disembarkation were a bit of a mess. Because we did not have much time not much to do.
Good tour. Capt. Kirk was very knowledgeable and fun. Did not rush us and was very patient
