Flew from Melbourne & stayed overnight at Hacienda Motel opposite the docks. Adds nearly $1,000 per couple to the over all holiday. Real pain for us Melbournians.

Apart from that, Brisbane Portside Precinct is lovely and within walking distance of several motels, it was hot, we called a taxi -$8.

No real problems boarding, except so many people arrive hours before time. Brisbane is quite organised, there is seating but thank goodness we walked down the precinct again and had a coffee and looked at the ship from the balcony viewing area, before checking in (Platinum).

Cabin Review

Interior

We had a cabin on Level 10, rear of ship. Service was same as usual for these ships. We were quite happy. Unsure of Cabin number and Reference.

Port Reviews

Brisbane

Portside Precinct - worth a look and if the ship is docked you can walk down to it or go up the stairs to the left and go to the balcony viewing area.

There is a Cinema this end too, showing whatever is current on any other cinema.

Also Public Toilets are inside too.

Alotau

It's a beach area where you can swim & snorkel. Ship anchors and you are tendered in. Has markets, very colourful.

Kiriwina (Papua New Guinea)

All very colourful, some children from schools singing. they do have their 'hats out' but a $5 note is fine.

Please don't give them coins and definately no silver, they can't change it.

Thank you.

Rabaul

We visited the small observatory on our trip to the hot springs. lovely view from the observatory, for goodness sake don't go testing the water at the hot springs. (a passenger fell in - terrible outcome, possibly didn't survive).
