Chose this cruise a year ago in order to visit Key West and the Bahamas for the first time.
Booked a Junior Suite on Deck 8 and My Time dining as early sitting was sold out. Took the chance that flying to Baltimore from Seattle would work in Feb. Overall, a good cruise experience in many respects. The Grandeur is an old ship which is clean and in pretty good shape but will really need its overhaul next year. Check in and departure from the port was very simple and expeditious. Transportation from the port to the airport was easy and inexpensive.
Our Junior Suite was plenty spacious enough for two with an adequate sized balcony. Due to the size of the ship, our 8th deck suite was directly under the solarium so there was noticeable noise in the mornings and throughout the day. It was still pretty quiet after 10 or 11 at night. If you want complete quiet, book on deck 7. We were nicely situated near the elevators, but not too close to get any noise.
Good sized for two. Balcony size good for this cruise as there was not much opportunity to sunbathe or relax outside due to weather. Plenty of storage space in room and bathroom.
Wifi was stable but slow and no interactive technology with the TV to review accounts, shore excursions or purchase on board activities. Temperature controls were good, shower was fine.
Cabin is close enough to the elevators without the noise from traffic at the lobby.
Routine noise from the Solarium above was never more than a nuisance during the day from early morning(7 am) to late evening (10 - 11 pm) but if you don't want to put up with it , book on deck 7 or below.
Easy access from downtown hotels.
Not enough time due to other considerations.
Bus tour was great.
More delays getting off ship as it arrived late and took longer than expected to clear Bahamian customs. Atlantis tour was excellent. Nassau was nice with good lunch at Señor Frogs on the pier.
More delays getting off the ship with supposed shore excursion priority non-existent. Moored at Navy Base pier and shuttle system into town was a mess and ate more time from an already short day in port. Trolley tour was very good and the Butterfly Conservatory was memorable.
