We embarked the 11 night cruise from Genoa on December 17th, and what an amazing time we had!

My partner and I have cruised with MSC before - firstly on Fantasia and then Lirica. More recently (October 2015) we had a terrible experience with Norwegian on Epic. The experience with Norwegian got us thinking as to whether cruising was still for us - we had apprehensions that perhaps MSC had changed and wouldn't be as we remembered it. How wrong we were!

Embarking at Genoa was slick and quick, we were shown pretty much straight through check-in and onboard the ship. Our cabin wasn't ready (it was only about 11:30) so we went up to the top deck aft (Gaudi Bar) for a strawberry daiquiri and sat in the sun.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Lovely, clean, spacious, plenty of storage and a massive balcony

Port Reviews

Genoa

looks a nice place to spend a day

Crete (Heraklion)

Beautiful place, would go back for a land holiday

Athens (Piraeus)

We had visited Athens before on an excursion so didn't bother this time. The hop on hop off buses are good

Rhodes

Nice medieval castle

Katakolon (Olympia)

Some beautiful roses even at Christmas time!

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Take the bus or train in to Rome - check the times regularly though
