We sailed for our first cruise on board the Carnival Freedom on January 25, 2015. We started out with a balcony but got a call from the upsell department that offered us an OS for 300 more. That is only 150/pp I jumped on it this gave us priority boarding so embarkation for us was great. We were also traveling with my daughter and her family we had our bookings linked and when they gave us the upsell call they also extended the offer to my daughter and her family. Instead of being 4 doors apart from each other we were placed in OS beside each other and they removed the divider on the balcony so we had a much larger balcony to share between the rooms. That was awesome.

Our room stewardess was awesome. The first day my husband got a bucket of beer which we took back to the cabin. After that point she would always refill both the ice bucket and the bucket that the beer came in with ice. She kept the room spotless and turned down the bed each night. Each night there was a new towel animal placed at the foot of our bed. she always called out to me if we would happen to see her in the hall. She always remembered my name, which makes me feel bad because I could not remember hers.

We did the steakhouse the first night and it was a great experience. I had brought a nice dress to wear that night, however, since it was my first cruise and I was not use to the slight rocking of the ship I was afraid to put on the shoes for the dress. I just opted for some nice pants and a decent shirt. The food was excellent that night. I did eventually get use to the rocking by the second night and on elegant night I was able to wear the dress I brought for that and the shoes. The food in the MDR was good. The food I ate through out the cruise was always good. We did do Guy's twice, Blue Iguana too many times to remember and the lido for most mornings. Read more
