The embarkation process at Port Canaveral was absolutely wonderful. We needed wheelchair assistance when we got there and someone was readily available. We were given our sign and sail cards and proceeded up to board the ship. The atrium of the ship was beautiful and our interior cabin 7203 was nice.

The problem with this cruise was that while the ship has been refurbished and the number of cruisers has increased, the common areas of the ship were just not acceptable for that many people. The ship was overcrowded, if you wanted to get a lounge chair in the sun, you had to get up and out by at least 5am because if you didn't, all of the chairs were taken. The entertainment (shows) and food in the main dining room were par at best. I was very disappointed with the staff on this cruise as they weren't nearly as friendly as I had come to expect from my other cruises in the past. There was a teak-wood grate missing near the lido deck hot tub which I fell into and hit my chin and shoulder on the railing. I got the pool deck manager to see it and she put a cone on it to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. The two hot tubs on the lido deck were cold and filled with too many people.

My sister came along with us on this cruise. When she booked her room she was given a lower price than we paid for the same category, floor, room and a week before the cruise they called her and offered to upgrade her to a balcony for a little extra money. We didn't get that call. Considering I had sailed on Destiny which then became the Sunshine I am disappointed to say the least. I feel that Carnival really let me down on this one and am hopeful that they will take our issues to heart.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4F

This cabin is an interior room and fit our needs perfectly. The only problem was that we rented a scooter from Care Vacations that Carnival recommended and the scooter would not fit in the cabin. We were forced to leave it outside the door in the hallway which they allowed but only because it wouldn't fit. I called and emailed Carnival several times before the cruise to find out if the scooter would fit and i was told that it would

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Port Canaveral was the easiest and most efficient port that we have embarked from.

Aruba

This is a great time. The rum punch is awesome and the crew was great!

Bonaire

This excursion was great. As I am unable to snorkel, I finally got a chance to see what everyone see's when they do it. The crew was very knowledgeable about the reefs and different types of fish. I highly recommend this one.

Grand Turk

Beach excursion was great. The weather was a little rough but the people at Bajari Beach Resort were awesome. We were greeted immediately and given a chair and an umbrella. There was a lunch provided and all of the beer and rum punch we could drink. The staff was great especially Jackie, Shelby and Martial.
