My wife & I are both retired and love to cruise. We have done 25 to 30 cruises. On Feb. 7 we took a 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Star.
For our embarkation we were given the time of 10 to 10:30. We arrived at 10:15, received our key card and then were told to sit down. Two and a half hours later we were allowed to board. During that 2and a half hour period the seats filled and and they stopped letting people in. It was quite chilly and the wind was blowing a lot. Hundreds of people were held outside in the cold for most of the 2 hours.
We had an ocean view room. It was so narrow that I had to climb over a desk to get to my side of the bed. My wife had to lean forward on her side as there was a pull down bed on the wall on her side preventing her from standing upright. On the third day of the cruise my wife re-injured her toe on our excursion due to the thoughtlessness of the guide.
The layout of the cabin was terrible. To get into the bed on one side you had to step over a table. To get in on the other side you had to lean forward as there was a drop down bed on the wall.
This was an excellent excursion.
The tubing was great but when we came to the end there was a problem. I had told the guide that my wife was recovering from a broken toe so he carried her tube to the launch point. When the trip ended he could have taken us out where we went in but instead he took us out before that and we had to walk over a pile of rocks of all different sizes and my wife re-injured her toe due to the uneven and unstable terrain.
The dive was fun but the water was a bit chilly and wet suits were not included. They were available but for an additional charge. The guide was excellent.
