My husband and I have recently completed this fantastic trip. We were so lucky to be blessed with good weather most of the time which meant we were able to go ashore at all the advertised ports - even having a sunny day of 18 degrees at Stanley, Falkland Islands. The contrasts from sunny, hot, cosmopolitan Buenos Aires to the stark whiteness and raw nature of Antarctica and the beauty of Patagonia and everything in between made this an exciting 21 days. We even had a good rounding of Cape Horn - just rough enough to add a touch of excitement.

We had a joined a cruise critic roll call and made contact with a great group of people who came to the organised Meet and Greet. (Thanks Christina for your assistance with this) and then joined in excursions to visit the sites in each of the ports. It was nice to the see familiar faces as we moved around the ship and the fantastic excursions (thanks KiwiKen) gave us a great insight into the lifestyle, architecture and natural beauty of each of the destinations.

We had previously done an amazing 25 day adventure trip to the Ross Sea area of Antarctica so were not expecting anywhere near the experiences or sights on this cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula area. How wrong we were. Whilst we didn't go ashore this time on the Antarctic continent, the scenic cruising was spectacular. Sightings of whales, penguins and extensive bird life amongst the huge icebergs, ice covered land and many glaciers were awe-inspiring. Read more
